Dell Inspiron Mini 12 Review
This Dell Netbook was very thin, only 0.9 inch and make the look like Apple MacBook Air. Lightly to take it anywhere you want. This netbook also not slippage when being held because the backend of this netbook is a bit rough. The glossy white cover also not so diligent collecting fingerprint impressions.
Black accents are shown in the direction of the back of the prominent unit, near the hinge, located adjacent to the battery location. Yes, the battery for Dell Inspiron Mini 12 is black, very contrast with the top chassis which have color white milk. In the part of this non glossy black color there is tiny LED that will light up white when the netbook is being switched on or charging the battery.
There are lot’s of thing that look unusual here. First, the display screen with 12.1 inch, high resolution, 1280×800 pixel make me very comfortable when surfing the internet using this netbook even i can opening 2 web page together side by side and reading it with comfort. The words was look normal, not small. The view on the screen also bright and the horizontal perspectives was good enough, enough comfortable to look from the side. However, there will be more better to push back the screen so that the reflection effect is not too felt.
Second, the keyboard is relieved (92% normal keyboard). The distance between the button is width and make me comfort to typing on it. The tuts are soft enough. On the top side, except F1-F10 buttons, there is six key which functioning independently which is F11, F12, Home, Del, Insert and End. The Fn button it self are being located at the right side of the bottom of this netbook. The other thing which feel wide is the touch panel which is little stringy but responsive but because of the wide of the palmrest, sometime the touchpad was occasionally jog with our wrists and suddenly move the cursor.
From the features, Mini 12 was similar with others netbook. There are Wi-Fi 802.11 g, Webcam 1.3 megapixel, card reader 3 in 1, a headphone jack, microphone jack, 3 USB Port, 1 LAN port, VGA Out Port and Kensington Lock. The back and front side of this netbook was clean.
At least when i’m using it, the back end of bottom screen unit which is close with the battery was felt hot but the touchpad and the keyboard was not influenced too much which mean are still comfortable when using this netbook. The bottom of the netbook was only slightly warm. This can be happened maybe because the combination of the wide of netbook surface and low power processor affecting the hot spread.
To make it more friendly, Dell also put Dock on the desktop. This panel show up big icon on the left side of the screen. However the location of the dock can be moved by drag and drop from the desktop or from the Start Menu.
This Dell Inspiron Mini 12 was not different so much with other netbook. More thin but with wide screen and keyboard make this netbook are comfortable to use and easy to take. The adapter which look like a cell phone also very light (178 gram). In short words this netbook was very suitable for anyone who like practice, beauty and the function but do not want being burdened with heavily netbook.
There will be more better if Dell not come with Vista because the processor (Z530) which are being used are less support for Vista and the memory also cannot be upgraded. The 3 cell battery also need 1 hour 52 minutes to fully charge and need to increase with 6 cell battery.

The Acer netbook has Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition as its operating system
Dell includes an industry-standard, one-year, parts-and-labor warranty with the system, and the Dell Web site has a robust collection of support tools, including online chat, a Flash-based question widget, and 24-7, toll-free telephone support. Retail stores offer a variety of extended warranty plans with your laptop purchase, but they’re generally expensive and hard to use, so we do not recommend them.
Powered by an Intel Atom N280 processor, Acer Aspire One D150-BK is a reliable laptop ideal for home as well office use. Perfect for executives who need to work while on the move, this laptop from Taiwanese manufacturer Acer seems to be the perfect solution. Its fast and efficient processor is capable of handling multiple programmes at once and ensures that all applications work smoothly. The laptop has a 160GB hard drive and a RAM capacity of 1,024MB. The hard drive offers ample space for all your documents, photos, files, music and media and the space is more than sufficient in case this would be your second laptop.
The Acer netbook has Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition as its operating system, which offers a familiar and intuitive working environment for the user. A comfortable operating system, it will ensure you are able to complete your tasks in less time. The laptop has a WSVGA 10.1 inch display screen with a resolution of 1024×600, which offers sharp and vivid images. The screen offers true-to-life images that are a pleasure to watch. The laptop does not have an optical drive.
Microsoft Corp’s new operating system, Windows 7, will be out in October. The previews are positive so far, so anyone buying a computer Dell Vostro 1500 battery, now should be thinking about upgrading this fall. Yet the NC20 isn’t quite ready for Windows 7. Because the graphics chip eats up part of the NC20’s 1GB of memory, it would need a memory upgrade first, according to Microsoft’s Upgrade Advisor software.
With a unique multi-touch and gesture pad, the Mini 10 netbook, from Dell(Dell 1691P battery), the world’s 2nd largest PC manufacturer, has a 720pixels display edge-to-edge display with an aspect ratio of 16:9. Equipped with an edge-to-edge keyboard, the Mini 10 comes loaded with everything a mobile companion should have and aims to cash in on the current popularity of netbooks. It is easy to navigate and run your fingers on the multi-touch track pad.
Moreover, the track pad is spill resistant and this further protects your gadget and ensures that it lasts long. Its compact and petite size is its highlighting feature that allows is to be carried everywhere and anywhere. A very stylish and compact 10.1 inch display screen and a built-in TV tuner are some its best features. Other useful features include a built-in mobile broadband and a built-in GPS. It also has a built-in 802.11n. Its very special gesture touchpad includes exclusive gestures like Home Screen, Dell Inspiron 6400 battery,Auto-Scroll and My Favorites. Available in popular Design Studio images, the dell Mini 10 has a large colour palette and runs on Intel Atom Z530, which makes it efficient and increase its performance and battery life.
Then Asus, a heretofore unknown PC company, hit upon an idea. Why not take cheap processors, stuff them into some of the small motherboards they had been working on, add a laptop screen and keyboard, and make a mini-laptop? They could stuff in Intel’s cheap new Atom processors and make something that is essentially a peripheral laptop. In a strategy that can be attributed to Pimp My Ride, laptop makers knew that consumers loved laptops so they decided to add a laptop to their laptops. The larger, more expensive laptop would sit quietly in the den while the netbook would scoot around the Internet, while you were on the couch watching TV or in the kitchen making pizza bagels.
What You Need To Know About Ipod Docking Stations
The iPod docking station is probably the “must have” accessory to go with your iPod, especially if you are a constant or frequent user. The docking station allows the iPod to fully charge while still allowing the listener to enjoy their music without interruption. The docking station also keeps the iPod safe and secure, avoiding the chance of damage if it were simply left on a chair or on a table.
There are several different options in iPod docking stations and the choice is largely one of price and convenience. For the tiny iPod Nano, a simple docking cradle gives the basic stability to the player and allows the Nano to be synched to the computer for downloads while charging. While the simple cradle does not have speakers of its own, an audio-out port allows the Nano in the docking cradle to be connected to external speakers, headphones, or even through your computer to play all your favorite songs while charging the battery. Typically these smaller cradle style docking stations are less than $20.00 US.
Larger docking stations for iPod Video or MP3 players typically have built-in speakers on either side of the docking cradle. These speakers are designed to be ultra high quality to preserve the sound from the iPod itself. Many of the larger docking stations come with surround sound speakers, subwoofers, tweeters and 3-D sound processors for an amazing sound quality from a small package. As with the simple cradle docking stations, the iPod is easily connected to the computer with a USB cable or FireWire connection. This allows synchronizing and downloading of songs while charging the batteries on the iPod and listening to tracks through the speakers.
Some docking stations have optional battery power to charge the iPods, typically using four or more AA batteries. This additional battery feature makes it an ideal choice for having to connect to a computer in areas where there are not enough power outlets, or even for playing and charging your iPod outside or in remote areas. Most of the larger, speaker-equipped docking stations range in price from $30.00 to under $100.00. There are some very unique in-wall docking stations that keep your iPod in a safely recessed dock that is permanently mounted to a wall behind or near your computer, but these are usually quite a bit more expensive. In addition many of the docking stations also have radios and additional features to make them more versatile.
When purchasing an iPod docking station it is important to carefully read what size and type of iPod the docking station can handle. Typically iPod docking stations will have additional inserts to allow them to hold a Nano but not all can hold the smaller, new generation of iPods.

What to look for when shopping for a netbook
The netbook is one of the most appealing gadgets in the market because it can equally meet the needs of students and businessmen. Being a new phenomenon that is loved by anyone looking for mobile Internet-based apps, netbooks are designed for users looking to access Internet, email, instant messaging and video chat on the go. Featuring Wi-Fi and mobile broadband cards to access the internet and offering the ability to edit and create MS Office documents, netbooks are the new hyper-trend of mobile users.
As an overwhelming collection of low-cost but highly portable and efficient netbooks is offered by chief companies like HP, Acer, Asus, Dell and Lenovo, consumers are often confused on the factors that determine a good netbook after all.
Here are some helpful tips that could help you decide on what to look for when shopping for a netbook:
a) Operating System
Netbooks come with several options, usually Linux variants, Windows XP or Windows Vista, and each OS has its own features. For instance, Linux variants are cheaper, easier to use, usually loaded with an instant-messaging client and open-source software. Windows Vista are more complex, slower systems and have difficult memory requirements. Windows XP are typically the most reliable and efficient system to use and the system that most users go with.
b) Memory
Netbooks are well known for having low RAM because of their small size and light weight. However, settling for less than 1GB of RAM is not an option. 1GB of more of DDR2 RAM is enough for running Internet-based apps and enjoying optimum performance. Besides, the higher the memory, the faster the netbook performs.
c) Screen
There are many netbooks that feature 7″ or 8″ screens, but also 9″ or 10″ screens. However, the important attribute here is that users can read the data displayed on the screen. Typically, this is feasible with a 10″ screen with 1,024 x 600 pixels resolution.
d) Keyboard Layout
Netbooks can greatly vary in their keyboards. Although typically, the keyboard is the 92% of the full size, some netbooks have a smaller keyboard that is the 88% of a full size keyboard. Some others have a full size keyboard, but they may have a totally different layout such as keys positioned differently etc. So before you decide on the netbook, make sure the keyboard is user-friendly.
e) Hard Drive
Usually, a 5,400 rpm HDD (Hard Disk Drive) offers more capacity and a better write performance than the SSDs (Solid-State Drive) that are offered in most netbooks. However, the SSD equipped netbooks boot up considerably faster than those that use HHD and their battery lasts for at least an extra hour. Besides, apps on the SSD launch almost instantly, while on the HDD it takes some extra time to perform the same tasks. Therefore, for users who need quick access on the move SDD is the best choice, although they are more expensive than the HDDs.
f) Battery
Settling for anything less than a six-cell battery is not an option because 3 or 4-cell batteries may save the user a fair amount of money, but the netbook will have only 2 or 3 hours of endurance with proportionate screen brightness and wireless use. With a 6-cell battery, endurance will be up to 6-7 hours.
g) Portability
Portability is also important. Netbooks that weigh less than 5.5LBS are considered ultra portable. These are small and light-weight netbooks, but heavy in price. Although they feature smaller keyboard and screen, ultra-portable netbooks operate with the latest operating system. For instance, HP’s 2133 Mini-Note PC runs with Windows Vista, has a 120GB hard drive and 2GB of storage and comes at a retail price of $800, which is much more expensive than the average price of a netbook which is $500.
Overall, for users who love portable PCs, netbooks are a great investment. Besides, for light-duty use like writing emails, creating documents and surfing the Internet to keep in touch with what’s happening online, netbooks are excellent devices, something between a laptop and a BlackBerry or iPhone. Most experts recommend purchasing a netbook with Windows XP OS, 10″+ screen that natively supports 1,024 x 600 pixels resolution, a built-in web cam, multi media card reader, and built-in wireless.

The Capacity of Laptop Batteries Explained
Laptop batteries are rated by, Voltage (V) and Milliamp-hours (mAh). Voltage
is the rate at which energy is drawn from the battery and Milliamp-hours Represents the capacity of the battery. The Milliamp-hour rating Corresponds to the run time of the battery. A battery with a high Milliamp-hour rating has a relatively longer run time than a battery with a Low Milliamp-hour rating.
Batteries with different Milliamp-hours can be used on the same laptop provided the voltage rating is the same. The voltage rating has to match that of the original battery or as recommended by the computer manual. Using a battery with a different voltage setting can seriously damage the laptop. The power ratings of most compatible/replacment batteries are higher than the original manufacturers’ batteries. This will not damage your laptop, in fact, it simply means that these batteries in many cases last longer than original manufacturers’ batteries. Ask the experts like
PowerUp on compatible replacement laptop batteries.
The run time of a laptop battery will vary on individual notebook computers, based on the applications being used (i.e. high graphics, games), the number of times something is saved or retrieved from the hard drive and/or CD Rom drive, the memory of notebook, and chemistry and capacity of the battery. A ‘realistic’ average run-time for a battery is 1.5 to 3 hours. Using devices like a wireless adapter on the laptop also drains the battery considerably.
The life of a battery under normal use is around 500 to 900 charge-discharge cycles. This is about one and a half to three years of battery life for the average user. As the rechargeable battery begins to fail, the running time of the battery begins to decline.

New Vaio X Notebook From Sony
If you are a fan of the small Sony laptops, you will have to look at the new range of Sony VAIO X series of notebooks. It weighs just 655 gram and measures just 13.9mm from all angles. Running on an Intel Atom TM chip that is normally seen in a netbook, the latest Intel Atom Processor Z550 has the latest Windows 7 OS and a solid state drive. Out to target business users on the go, the higher range Sony VAIO is 3G enabled for fast online surfing. So how was Sony able to achieve such a thin and light netbook? The VAIO X’s chassis is made of a magnesium alloy, and the lid is built from carbon fiber. This material allows the screen to flex, which can be a bit unnerving, but Sony said that it’s designed to bend somewhat. Also, by using an Intel Atom Z-series processor, which uses less power (and creates less heat) than the N-series Atom chips in most netbooks, the company was able to make the netbook incredibly slim without requiring a fan. The lid of our review unit was matte black, as was the inside, with a bronze underside that felt slightly rough to the touch. Sony also offers the netbook with a Champagne Gold lid, but only for the model with a 128GB SSD (more on that later). With a single-core Atom processor, the VAIO X Series is never going to be a great performer. Even though the 2GHz Z550 chip supports hyper-threading, this is no substitute for the performance of the dual-core processors used in most other laptops, and the VAIO felt a little sluggish at times. Our review unit was rated at just 2.5 under the Windows Experience Index built into Windows, but this score was held back by the low performance of the Intel GMA 500 graphics function in the chipset, while the memory and disk scores were quite respectable. However, like netbooks (which also use Atom processors) the VAIO has ample performance for productivity tasks such as word processing, email and delivering presentations.Performance was also possibly affected by the presence of various pre-installed applications, such as 60-day trial versions of Norton Online Backup and McAfee Security Center, which run every time the computer starts regardless of whether you accept the 60-day trial conditions or not.I think that when you purchase a PC like this it will find most of its use in ultraportable situations. A business person would love to have something like this for a myriad of situations – plane, office, meeting, lunch. A college student could pull this off. The nice thing is that it doesn’t have an explosive price like the VAIO TT did. I think Sony will do well with the X Series because it’s $1,300 – not $2,000 – 3,000 like the TT. This is a direct competitor to the Macbook Air in my eyes and wins in several segments. Don’t try and tell me Snow Leopard is better than Windows 7, either. I’ve used both and they are both excellent operating systems. There are two USB ports on the left-hand side of the chassis, plus a headphone socket, while slots for Memory Stick media and SD cards occupy the front. And that’s your lot. The rest of the design carries on this minimalist feel. Aside from a wireless switch, the only buttons to press are the two for the simple touchpad and the keyboard itself. The VAIO X’s touchpad was a decently sized 2.1 x 1.6 inches and offered little friction. However, like the keyboard, it could have been a smidgen larger especially considering it’s capable of recognizing multitouch gestures, such as pinch and zoom. Two mouse buttons below are also small but responsive. The laptop’s 11.1 inch screen and 6.5 hours of battery life is also respectable. Snap on an optional larger battery and your battery life jumps to 14 hours. This is of course also thanks to the Windows 7 OS and solid state hard disk under the hood which is optimized to greatly improve battery life compared to past laptops.

Acer Aspire One D150-1920 Notebook- It’s Small; It’s Beautiful
The Acer Aspire One D150-1920 Notebook has been a big hit in the market. If youâ??re looking for a light and portable laptop, then this Aspire One Notebook is what you should be looking for. It is perfectly weighted and you can just put it into your bag and carry it wherever you want. This Aspire One D Series notebook is powered by an Intel Atom N270 1.6 GHz Processor and a 1 GB DDR2 SDRAM. This delivers an amazing performance that has me hooked on to it for hours. The size of the keyboard is compact and the key spacing is almost perfect. In terms of storage, the 160 GB hard drive lets me save all the files that I want. Its external memory card slots also support most flash card types. I also find the 10.1″ WSVGA display of this Aspire One notebook quite impressive. The picture quality with images rich in color is more than what I couldâ??ve asked for. The display is backed by an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950. The audio output of this Acer LU.S560B.103 Notebook is well supplemented by two integrated stereo speakers. Iâ??ve been tired of the poor networking quality of the laptops Iâ??ve used in the past. But this Acer netbook laptop, with built-in Wi-Fi and fast Ethernet, has brought all my networking problems to an end. Browsing the web, managing e-mails, messaging, making VoIP calls, streaming videos, and viewing photos have all become simple, to say the least. I think the most prominent feature of this Acer mini laptop is its six-hour battery run-time offered by a six-cell Lithium-ion battery. Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition (SP3) is pre-installed on this Acer laptop computer. This pretty pink laptop looks quite trendy, and is certainly affordable They say â?great things come in small packagesâ?- itâ??s very true for this netbook.
